Johannes Ganten, Ende 50, von seinen Freunden John genannt, führt als emeritierter Professor für Städtebau ein komfortables Leben. Überhaupt ist ihm immer alles zugeflogen, die Arbeit, die Frauen, für John ist dies selbstverständlich. Nie hat er sich über irgendetwas Gedanken gemacht, bis er an diesem Morgen – die Weihnachtsfeiertage sind gerade vorbei - einen Zettel in seinem Briefkasten findet mit dem Satz: Morgen musst Du sterben!
Ganten nimmt die Warnung nicht wirklich ernst. Sein alter Freund Peter sieht das ganz anders und kann die Haltung von John überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Erst die zweite Warnung und einige sehr seltsame Begegnungen nagen an Gantens unerschütterlichem Selbstbewusstsein, und die Stunden, die er dann erlebt, verändern sein Leben.... (ARD Presse)
