Synopsis in German
Kurz bevor er den Marschbefehl erhält, lernt der lebensfrohe Journalist Bill Gordon die reizende Joel Carter kennen. Um Eindruck bei ihr zu schinden, sagt er, er sei der Autor eines berühmten Fachbuches über das Entschlüsseln von Geheimcodes.
Bill ahnt nicht, dass Joel die Nichte von John Carter ist, der im Kriegsministerium die Abteilung für Spionageabwehr leitet. Er kommandiert Bill umgehend in seine Abteilung ab. Bill soll unter der Leitung von Major Brennan feindliche Codes dechiffrieren. Durch sein Talent findet er heraus, dass die Gegenseite alle amerikanischen Funksprüche abfängt. Die undichte Stelle ist Olivia, die Geliebte Major Brennans. Olivia versucht auch Bill zu täuschen, doch der schöpft Verdacht und stellt ihr eine Falle. Dazu muss Bill mit Olivia ausgehen. Joel ahnt nicht, dass Olivia eine feindliche Agentin ist und glaubt, dass Bill sie betrügt. (3Sat Presse)
