Synopsis in German
Die amerikanische Schriftstellerin Lillian Hellman erinnert sich an ihre Jugendfreundin Julia, die ein Opfer der Nazis wurde... Die Freundschaft beginnt in den 20er Jahren in New York und bleibt bestehen, trotz der Trennung. Denn Julia, Tochter aus reichem Hause, studiert bei Freud in Wien Medizin, wird zur engagierten Sozialistin und kämpft gegen das Nazi-Regime.
