Synopsis in German
Statt in die Flitterwochen reist ein frisch verheirateter Universitätsprofessor aus Oxford 1939 mit seiner Braut in das von den Nazis besetzte Österreich, wo er für das britische Außenministerium einen Auftrag als geheimer Kurier erfüllen soll.
Wie sehr haben sich Professor Richard Myles und seine Braut Frances auf ihre Flitterwochen gefreut. Doch daraus wird nichts. Peter Galt vom britischen Außenministerium bittet Myles und Frances, als Touristen getarnt zunächst nach Paris und dann in das von den Nazis besetzte Österreich zu reisen. Denn als hochkarätiger Physiker ist Myles der Einzige, der beurteilen kann, welche Wichtigkeit die Information eines in Österreich untergetauchten Agenten über eine deutsche Wunderwaffe hat. Mit Hilfe des österreichischen Kollaborateurs Hassert Seidel kommen Myles und seine Frau ihrem Ziel in Innsbruck rasch näher. Doch da trifft Myles überraschend seinen alten Freund und Kollegen von Aschenhausen wieder, der sich als Antifaschist ausgibt, in Wahrheit aber ein SS-Mann ist, der Myles Kontaktmann Dr. Mespelbrunn längst enttarnt hat. Mit knapper Not können Myles und seine Frau der von Aschenhausen geschickt gestellten Falle entgehen. Eine turbulente Flucht nach Italien beginnt. (mdr Presse)
