Synopsis in German
Philip Sutherland, Zeitungskorrespondent in Moskau, hat nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges gegen den Rat seiner Freunde die russische Ballerina Marya Lamanka geheiratet. Kurze Zeit später wird Sutherland ausgewiesen, weil er sich durch seine Zeitungsberichte unbeliebt gemacht hat. Als alle Versuche, Marya auf legalem Wege zur Ausreise zu verhelfen, scheitern, schmiedet Sutherland einen abenteuerlichen Plan: Er will seine Frau, die mit ihrem Ensemble auf Tournee ist, heimlich mit dem Boot aus einem kleinen Ostseehafen abholen und in den freien Westen bringen.
Doch Marya kann die Verabredung nicht einhalten, denn sie muss bei einer Galavorstellung fĂĽr einen russischen General tanzen. Sutherland sieht keinen anderen Weg - er muss sich als Russe verkleiden und Marya aus dem Theater entfĂĽhren. (3Sat Presse)
