He was a German Director of Photography, known for Der Berg ruft (1937), Berge in Flammen (1931), Liebe im Finanzamt (1952), Albert Benitz's first movie on record is from 1926. Albert Benitz died on March 11, 1979 in Hamburg. His last motion picture on file dates from 1970.
Biographical Notes in German: Zusammenarbeit mit den Pionieren des Bergfilms Dr. Arnold Fanck und später mit Luis Trenker, 1928-29 Teilnahme an einer Expedition nach Süd-Georgien mit Margrit und Ludwig Kohl-Larsen. Die dabei entstandenen Tierfaufnahmen werden in dem Film ROAH-ROAH verwendet. In den 50er Jahren bevorzugter Kameramann von Kurt Hoffmann. Zog sich in den Sechziger Jahren vom Film zurück.
