Biographical Notes in German: Regisseur des amerikanischen Stummfilms. Begann als Shauspieler, dann Regisseur und Produzent am Suburban Garden Theatre in St. Louis, spÃ¤ter an der Academy of Music in New York. William Fox engagierte in als Regisseur 1914 fÃ¼r seine Gesellschaft Fox Film Corporation. In der Folge inszenierte Edwards mehr als 20 Filme mit dem Vamp-Star Theda Bara - die meisten dieser Filme gelten als verschollen. Die letzten Filme drehte Edwards fÃ¼r Fox in Rom, so auch das historische Drama "Nero".
Sein Enkel ist der Regisseur Blake Edwards.
Theda Bara nannte ihn "the nicest director I ever worked with."
